NEW DELHI: “Bihar ke logon ne garda uda diya,” declared Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his first address after National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a historic win in Bihar Assembly Elections on Friday. Hailing “Chhathi Maiyya”, he extended his gratitude to the voters for “rejecting appeasement politics of the opposition”.“Jai Chhathi Maiya, yeh prachand jeet, atoot vishwas, Bihar ke logo ne bilkul garda uda diya hai, ” he said.NDA emerged victorious in the state, crossing the 200-seat mark and potentially surpassing its 2010 record of 206 seats. Hailing the victory, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar extended his gratitude to PM Modi along with the voters.“In the Bihar Legislative Assembly Election-2025, the people of the state have given us a thumping majority, expressing their confidence in our government. For this, I offer my salutations to all the esteemed voters of the state, heartfelt thanks, and gratitude,” he said in a post on X.“I extend my salutations to the esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, along with heartfelt thanks and gratitude for the support received from him. The NDA alliance has demonstrated complete unity in this election and secured a thumping majority. For this resounding victory, I also express thanks and gratitude to all our N.D.A. alliance partners—Shri Chirag Paswan Ji, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi Ji, and Shri Upendra Kushwaha Ji. With everyone’s support, Bihar will advance even further and join the ranks of the most developed states in the country,” he added.
