Family members distributed sweets, offered prayers and embraced visitors, many of whom described the moment as one of collective pride for the entire region. The atmosphere was charged with emotion — a mix of relief, disbelief and sheer happiness after years of struggle and perseverance.“I thank God that I have lived to see this day,” said his father, Ghulam Nabi, a schoolteacher. “His selection is the result of his hard work. I am extremely happy, beyond words. It is only God’s blessings and Aqib’s dedication that have brought him here.” He also urged young people to balance sports with education and to stay away from negative influences.Friends and relatives echoed similar sentiments, pointing to Nabi’s discipline and resilience. “It is a moment of immense happiness for all of us.
