CBSE class 12 re-evaluation portal delayed: When will the website finally start for students?
NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was expected to activate its Class 12 post-result verification and re-evaluation portal on June 1, 2026. However, students attempting to access the service on Monday continued to face uncertainty as the portal link remained inactive despite the board’s earlier announcement. The delay has added to concerns among students and parents, particularly after technical issues were reported during the answer-sheet access process earlier this month. Thousands of students are now waiting for the verification, photocopy and re-evaluation window to begin so that they can review their results and seek corrections, where required.Revised schedule announced after earlier postponementCBSE had earlier postponed the launch of post-result activities from May 29 to June 1, stating that additional time was required to strengthen the website infrastructure and ensure a smooth application process. In a post on X, the board had said the revised schedule was intended to maintain transparency and uphold evaluation protocols. Officials also indicated that the website was being upgraded to prevent disruptions once large numbers of students began accessing the services simultaneously. However, even after the revised launch date arrived, students reported that the re-evaluation link was still unavailable.Questions persist after answer-sheet access issuesThe delay comes against the backdrop of widespread complaints linked to the answer-sheet access process. Students had reported difficulties in obtaining scanned copies of evaluated answer books, while others flagged payment gateway failures and incorrect fee displays. The controversy gained further attention following concerns surrounding CBSE’s newly introduced On Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 evaluation. In recent days, the board had roped in experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur to review aspects of the digital evaluation ecosystem and strengthen technical processes.Despite those interventions and assurances regarding system preparedness, the re-evaluation portal had not become operational by June 1.Heavy demand expected once portal opensCBSE is expecting significant traffic once the verification process begins. More than four lakh applications were reportedly received earlier for access to scanned answer sheets.Under the post-result process, students can apply for verification of marks, request photocopies of evaluated answer books and seek re-evaluation of specific answers after reviewing their scripts. For assistance, students have been advised to contact the CBSE Tele-Counselling Helpline at 1800 11 8004 or write to resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in while awaiting further updates from the board regarding activation of the portal.
