The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced the results of the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted for recruitment to the posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) under CEN 05/2025. Candidates who qualified in the first stage examination have now been provisionally shortlisted for the 2nd Stage CBT.According to the official notification, candidates have been shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the 1st Stage CBT. The Railway Recruitment Boards said that the shortlisting process was carried out after taking into account the order of preference submitted by candidates for different posts.The boards clarified that candidates who availed reservation benefits under categories such as OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-Servicemen (ExSM) will continue to be considered under the same categories in all further stages of recruitment.
Scorecards and qualifying status available today
RRB informed candidates that they can check their individual scores and qualifying status for the 2nd Stage CBT through the official websites of the respective Railway Recruitment Boards.The result link became active on May 13, 2026, at 5 pm. To access the scorecard, candidates need to log in using their registration number and date of birth.Along with the score details, candidates can also view the question paper they attempted and the correct answers marked among the available options.

- Visit the official website of your respective Railway Recruitment Board (RRB).
- On the homepage, click on the link for “RRB JE Result 2026” or the CEN 05/2025 result notification.
- A login window will appear on the screen.
- Enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth in the required fields.
- Click on the submit/login button.
- Your qualifying status, scorecard, and result details will appear on the screen.
- Download the result and scorecard PDF for future reference.
- Candidates can also check their question paper and correct answers through the login portal.

2nd stage CBT schedule to be announced later
The Railway Recruitment Boards stated that the dates for the 2nd Stage CBT will be announced separately in due course. Candidates shortlisted for the next round will receive updates through the official RRB websites, SMS, and email alerts.The exam city intimation slip is expected to be released nearly 10 days before the examination date, while the e-call letters or admit cards will be made available four days prior to the CBT.
Document verification to depend on 2nd stage performance
RRB clarified that further shortlisting for document verification will be based on candidates’ performance in the 2nd Stage CBT.The boards also stressed that the candidatures of all shortlisted candidates remains provisional. Officials warned that candidature can be cancelled at any stage if discrepancies, false information, or malpractice is detected during the recruitment process.The notification further underlined that merely qualifying for the 2nd Stage CBT does not guarantee an appointment in the Railways. The first stage examination was held on February 19, 20, and 25, 2026, across multiple centres in the country. The recruitment drive is considered one of the major railway hiring exercises for technical posts, attracting lakhs of candidates from different states.
